How to inexpensively rebuild your brand post-covid.
Insights and hacks into building your brand or repositioning your brand without breaking the bank.
In late 2020 and heading into 2021 it is critical for all American businesses to revisit their marketing initiatives.
In the age of Covid-19 pretty much everyone’s brand has taken a beating. Even if you have continued through the pandemic without much disturbance to your business you are still in a position to either build your brand identity and market share.
What about Social Media marketing?
Good point, you and 2.3 billion other Facebook and Instagram users can sit in front of your computer and hashtag your little hearts out. Social Media is dead, dead, dead.
In the beginning it looked like the savior to all of our marketing needs. We could snap a picture and share and they’d be a path to your door. The problem with this idea is everyone though the same.
Ask yourself the following question. Do you make your brand loyalty desions solely by what you see FaceBook or Instagram? Probably not.
What about Google Ads?
Have you tried to speak to Google Ads in the last year? Its a joke. They have outsourced all ad support to the Philippines. The wait times are forever and the service sucks.
Even if you get an ad up and running (along with everyone else) you may be paying as much as $3 or $4 per click! Did you know this? You can go broke on PPC (pay per click) before you get one new single client.
You’re joking, right?
People only listen to radio while driving, yet when you buy the best priced radio ads 80% of the ads run while no one is driving, or listening. If you buy drive time ads, then they are waaaay too expensive. Plus, with Covid and people working from home, less people are actually commuting.
Nope, your most effective and cost-effective marketing is promotional products!
Promotional products are useful tangible items imprinted with an advertiser’s name, logo or message designed to increase brand awareness among consumers.
Promotional products are an incredibly powerful marketing tool since they allow a brand to connect with consumers by engaging their senses. As one of the only forms of advertising that allows consumers to interact with a brand on a physical level, promotional products often create a more memorable brand experience.
88% of promotional product recipients remember the name of the advertiser on the products. 85% of the recipients do business with the advertiser on the product. 83% of people like receiving them.
How to use promotional swag when not at a tradeshow.
Tradeshows are toast for now. They will be back but not this year.
You may only be familiar with using swag at a trade show but promotional products are far more versatile than that. They are in fact, the most effective marketing tool at your fingertips.
Here’s and idea. The Pop Phone Socket. Everyone has a smartphone, everyone wants a popsocket. Get your logo on it, give it to your clients and prospects, put it in an old school letter and mail it to your guys, give it to your employees to use.
Every time someone uses their phone, on average, over 90 times a day!, they see your logo. Now that’s brand building.

January 2021 Update
As we head into 2021 there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully it is not a train.
As the country gets vaccinated the outcome will be a return to some assemblance of normal. What that looks like is not yet clear but one thing is for certain, we will need to reboot our businesses.
Covid disrupted business like no other event.
To say Covid-a9 was a disruptor would be an understatement. It kicked the crap out of America’s businesses. Now is the time to get back on the track.
There was certainly a lot of trouble in business due to Covid but like all things in life, the trouble has also created some opportunities.
One of the main opportunities in all of this mess is the opportunity for America’s businesses to capture some of the business from their competition.
Not all businesses will return. Let’s take advantage of that!
It’s a sad fact, but not all businesses will survive past Covid. We cannot change that fact.
However, there is an opportunity here that you need to consider. If your business has survived Covid-19 and some of your competitors haven’t or more likely are “crippled” by the past year. Now is the time for you to start to get your marketing back in gear.
Your target start date is March 15th 2021.
With all of the overviews, insights and lets face it “guesswork” taken into account. March 15th is the estimated date when the roll out of the vaccine will have been enough to build some amount of safety and security within the American business and social world.
March 15, 2021 or thereabouts, people will start to have confidence in the vaccine, enough vaccinations will have taken place and a “demand to get back to normal” will be the dominant thought.
Be ready to strike or get left behind!
If there was ever a time that a business marketer needed to plan and think about how to execute a marketing initiative, it is March 15th 2021.
The business market playing field for the most part will be as level as it ever will be. If there is a moment in this decade where you and your competition are on equal terms it is now.
To take advantage of this unique opportunity you have to plan what you are going to do and you you have to be ready to “pull the trigger!”
