The first thing people are going to do after Covid is step on the scale.

The next thing they will do is go to the gym.

The last year and a half has taken a toll on many things. The most personal toll for many people will be their weight gain and lack of health.

Gyms have been closed or difficult to use and instead of finding alternative ways to stay in shape couch surfing and carb loading has become the new norm. It has even coined a phrase. “ I have gained the quarantine 19!”

What does this have to do with promotional products?

A trend is simply a way to describe how a larger group of people are behaving in a single way.

A trend can be silly (ie fidget spinners) or it can be important such as the environment. Whatever the trend there is a promotional product to intersect that trend.

Simply put if you want to find a way to promote your brand or service you need to associate your brand or service with that trend.

4 years ago, when fidget spinners were hot, millions of companies put their brand on that trend. I know this as we sold over 2 million spinners in less than 7 months! Everyone wanted their logo on the current trending product. The act of branding a fidget spinner made their clients take notice. It was silly, but it worked.

The next trend will be fitness and weight loss.

As noted in the opening paragraph everyone’s health has faltered due to Covid. Stepping on the scale post-covid will be the catalyst for a re-emergence of gyms, fitness, health and weight loss.

One of the top trends in the fitness scene is the shaker cup or shaker bottle. This is what you should be positioning to get a brand on.

What is a shaker cup?

The main purpose of a shaker cup is to mix up protein shakes. But they can also be used for any drink—from juice to sports drink to iced coffee or just plain water. Shaker cups are ergonomically designed with an easy-to-hold grip, allowing it to double as an active lifestyle water bottle.

Protein shaker bottles enable you to mix your liquid and protein powder. With the shaker bottle, you also don’t have to settle for lumpy protein shakes. However, this doesn’t guarantee a smooth and palatable mixture. Only a blender can achieve a 100% smooth mixture.

What is a blender cup?

Blender cups or blender bottles have either a silver ball or metal or plastic spring in the bottle. The shaker ball should stay in the shaker when you add your protein powder and liquid to the shaker. During the shaking process the ball bounces around and helps to mix your shake making it as smooth as possible.

 

What do you need to know about Shaker cups to make a decision on which to buy?

Like everything these days, there is ok, good, great and over the top. This applies to shaker cups as much as anything.

Over the top shaker cups.

There are battery powered and electric shaker cups. These are over the top. Unnecessary in my opinion.

Stainless steel shaker cups.

We personally love these. They are easy to clean, tough and resilient. They can come with a second chamber for holding protein powder and a folding strainer. They are also the most expensive.

Plastic blender cups.

We also love these. Most people will want a shaker cup with a blender ball. It makes for less lumpy protein shakes.

Basic shaker cups.

These are your basic entry level bottle. Even at this inexpensive price point there are many with great features.
